Hospitality Photographer South Africa
Photography for the places people travel to feel something. From intimate stays and curated spaces to retreat experiences and the lifestyle content that brings them to life online — this is hospitality photography that makes people stop scrolling and start planning.
As a hospitality photographer with over eleven years of experience, I create imagery for stays, retreats and experiences that need to be felt before they’re booked. I’ve shot boutique hotels on the Sinai Peninsula, retreat spaces in the Lowveld and lodge experiences across the Greater Kruger region — each one requiring a different eye, but the same commitment to atmosphere, light and authentic storytelling.
Hospitality photography is about more than beautiful rooms and plated food. It’s about making someone feel something before they’ve even booked — the quality of light through a window, the stillness of a morning view, the warmth of a space that’s been carefully considered. That feeling is what I chase on every shoot.
I operate as a studio on wheels — full production gear, lighting and equipment that travels wherever the property demands. Remote lodges, off-grid retreats, boutique city hotels — the quality of the imagery never depends on the location. South African hospitality photographers rarely offer this level of flexibility at this standard. Your space deserves imagery that matches the experience you’ve built.
Whether it’s atmospheric spaces, immersive retreat moments or social and marketing content built for conversion — I go where the story is. Based in the Lowveld, available across South Africa and internationally.
Notable hospitality work includes Nour Boutique Hotel Dahab, Sun Destinations and retreat and wellness experiences across South Africa and Egypt. For the full hospitality portfolio, visit sbrazierstays.com.
A hospitality shoot with me is built around the guest experience, not a checklist of empty rooms. Architectural exteriors and interiors, styled details, food and beverage, the people behind the property, and the unscripted lifestyle moments that show what it actually feels like to stay — every gallery is designed to work as hard on a booking platform as it does in a magazine feature. I photograph properties the way a guest falls in love with them: slowly, in the best light, with attention to the details you agonised over.
From city hotels in Cape Town and Johannesburg to safari lodges around Hoedspruit and the Greater Kruger, and boutique stays on Egypt’s Sinai coast — distance has never decided the quality of the work. As a hospitality photographer, South Africa is my home base, but the passport gets used often.
Every commission starts with a conversation about how the imagery will be used — booking platforms, a website refresh, social content, press features. From there I build a shoot plan around your property’s strongest hours of light and the experiences your guests actually book you for. You receive a curated, fully edited gallery delivered ready for web and print, with licensing that matches how you use your images.
Hospitality photography also rarely lives alone. The same properties often need brand campaign imagery, founder and team portraits, and content for launches — work you will find in my commercial and editorial portfolio. One photographer who understands your brand across every format keeps the visual story coherent.
For retreat hosts and wellness spaces, I document the full arc of the experience — arrival, gathering, movement, quiet — so future guests understand not just where they will stay, but how they will feel while they are there. That emotional clarity is what turns a browser into a booking, and it is the difference between photographs of a place and photographs of an experience.
