— MY STORY

Eleven years

behind the lens,

one story so far.

With over 11 years as a portrait photographer across South Africa and beyond, I’ve built a practice rooted in authenticity, connection, and the kind of light that tells the truth about a person.

It started in 2014 with my dad’s Canon 350D — I was sixteen, shooting everything and anything I could point it at. A year later, in grade eleven, I photographed my first matric farewells for next to nothing, and started attending Instameets around Johannesburg, where photographers and models would gather just to create. That’s where the portrait work took root.

Through university I kept shooting on the side. The paying jobs were graduations and the like — but it was always portraits, always something more editorial, that I kept coming back to.

In 2020 the plan was to become a wedding photographer. Then COVID happened, and there was no wedding work to be had. So that April I took a course in studio photography, and by June — on a friend’s suggestion, working with nothing more than a bed frame and a curtain — I’d started a studio of my own.

It ran for five years — until 2026, when I closed its doors to follow the work I loved most: editorial, and the stories waiting beyond one studio’s four walls. These days I’m on the move between South Africa and Egypt, and beyond, carrying that same portrait work wherever it leads.

From portrait sessions across South Africa to shooting on rooftops in Dahab and golden hour in the Lowveld — my work follows the story, wherever it leads.

Clients leave not just with images, but with the feeling of having truly been seen.

— HOW I WORK

I photograph humans the way they deserve to be seen. It’s for everyone. It’s a process, it’s a transformation — high-end editorial in the finished image, but down-to-earth in how we get there. No forced poses, no performing for the camera. Just presence.
